Audi e-tron GT quattro brings new £89k entry-level model

Audi has expanded its e-tron GT range with a new entry-level model, slashing the grand tourer’s starting price by almost £20,000.

The Audi e-tron GT quattro starts at £88,500 – a massive reduction on the previous £107,825 entry point to Ingolstadt’s all-electric Porsche Taycan twin.

As the entry-level variant, the e-tron quattro delivers less power than the potent S, RS and RS performance models, but with 496bhp (boosted briefly to 576bhp using launch control) it’s still no slouch. The 0-62mph run takes a very respectable four seconds, compared with 3.4 for the 584bhp S e-tron GT or 2.5 for the RS e-tron GT performance, which offers up to 912bhp in boost mode.

Unlike the entry-level Taycan, the e-tron GT quattro retains a two-motor all-wheel-drive setup.

While power is down, the Audi e-tron GT quattro brings the best range in the line-up, offering up to 384 miles from the same 97kWh battery featured in other variants. That’s around 10 miles more than the S e-tron GT. The entry-level car also gets the same class-leading 320kW charging, which will allow a 10-80% charge in 18 minutes and will add 177 miles in just 10 minutes.

The Audi e-tron GT quattro gets a power reduction but a boost in range

Two versions of the lower-powered e-tron GT will be offered when orders open – the regular quattro and the quattro Vorsprung.

All versions come with all-wheel-drive, adaptive air suspension, 20-inch alloys wheels and a heat pump as standard, along with matrix LED lights, a panoramic sunroof and powered tailgate. Heated leather front seats, a 10-speaker sound system, reversing camera and adaptive cruise control are also standard on all models.

The £108,055 Vorsprung spec gets the same 496bhp motor but adds all-wheel steering, Audi adaptive laser lights, and a switchable transparency function for the sunroof. The sports seats also get Nappa leather upholstery, 18-way adjustment, ventilation and massage, while the sound system is upgraded to a 710W Bang & Olufsen setup with Dolby Atmos. The more expensive variant also gets a head-up display, night vision and a more advanced driver assistance package including remote parking assistance.

Orders for the new Audi e-tron GT quattro open on June 24, with first customer deliveries due in August.
