FIA Girls on Track drives inclusivity at Madrid E-Prix
The FIA Girls on Track programme once again took centre stage at the 2026 Madrid E-Prix, reinforcing Formula E’s broader mission to drive diversity, education and opportunity within motorsport.
Running alongside Round 6 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the initiative welcomed up to 120 young women across race week, offering direct access to the sport through a structured programme of workshops, career sessions and immersive experiences inside the paddock.
Designed to address the gender imbalance in motorsport and STEM careers, FIA Girls on Track continues to expand its reach across every race market in Season 12. The Madrid edition reflected growing demand from young women seeking clearer pathways into engineering, technology and racing-related professions.
Participants were given behind-the-scenes access rarely available to the public, including a Pit Lane Walk that brought them face-to-face with teams, cars and engineers operating at the sharp end of electric racing.
Complementing this access were hands-on workshops, interactive gaming sessions and career talks delivered by industry professionals, all aimed at demystifying motorsport and showcasing the breadth of roles available beyond the driver’s seat.
The initiative forms part of Formula E’s wider commitment to sustainability and social impact, not only through environmental innovation, but by actively investing in future talent pipelines.
By combining education with real-world exposure, FIA Girls on Track is positioning itself as a key bridge between aspiration and opportunity, particularly for young women who may not otherwise consider motorsport as a viable career path.
Support from partners including Hankook (presenting partner) and Autoliv (official partner) ensures the programme continues to scale, both in reach and impact.
While the on-track action in Madrid delivered one of the standout races of the season, initiatives such as FIA Girls on Track highlight the championship’s broader purpose.
