Andretti Altawkilat sticks with Munnings and Hansen for Extreme E Season 4
Andretti Altawkilat Extreme E will field an unchanged driver line-up for the fourth consecutive season, with Catie Munnings and Timmy Hansen once again taking the wheel in 2024.
The pair are the only partnership to have competed together in every round of the off-road series since its inception in 2021. They took the team’s debut victory in Season 1, winning the first-ever Arctic X Prix in Greenland, and securing two additional podium finishes to finish fourth overall.
Since then their fortunes have slipped, finishing seventh in the championship in 2022 and 2023, and the duo will be hoping to climb the rankings this year.
The UK’s Munnings and Sweden’s Hansen are looking to make an immediate impact when the Season 4 gets underway with the Desert X Prix in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 17-18 February.
Timmy Hansen said: “Season 4 of Extreme E is coming up and I’m very excited to get into a new year of racing. It always feels great to start a new chapter and we’ve learned so much over the past few years. We’re aiming to build on all the experience we’ve got and to start the new year off on a high, and I couldn’t choose a better team or teammate to do it with.
“I feel super at home in this team. We all have very high ambitions and we’re prepared to fight for every chance we get.”
Extreme E season 4 kicks off with rounds one and two in Jeddah in February before moving to Europe. The location for rounds three and four in July is still to be revealed but Sardinia will host back-to-back weekends of action on September 14-15 and 21-22 before the teams head to the USA for rounds nine and 10 in Phoenix in November.
The latest team announcement comes on the heels of Sun Minimeal announcing its entry into the 2024 championship. The new team will be led by team principal Timo Scheider, who will also drive for the team alongside Klara Andersson.
